TEMPORARY RESIDENCY VISAS


Temporary residents will be entitled to a two-year visa that could be renewed for one more term.

This type of residency covers the following categories:

 

  • Worker

  • Rentist

  • Retired

  • Investor

  • Scientist, researcher or academic

  • Sportsman, artist, cultural manager

  • Religious officer or religious volunteer of an organization recognized by Ecuador.

  • Volunteer

  • Student

  • Professional, technician, technologist or craftsman

  • Resident by agreement (who enters the country under a type of migratory condition determined by an international agreement to which Ecuador is a party)

  • Dependent

  • People under international protection


Service includes: 

  • Permanent legal counsel and guidance through the process

  • Visa application; obtaining migratory reports and other legal documents required in the process; translation of documents; notarization of documents; interviews with the foreign affairs officers/authorities; Ecuadorian cedula (bilingual facilitator to get the cedula in Guayaquil. Transportation fees not included)

PERMANENT RESIDENCY VISAS

 

Foreigners can stay in the country indefinitely if they meet at least one of the following conditions:

 

  1. To be a temporary resident for at least 21 months and request the permanent residency before the temporary residency has expired.

  2. To be married or have a legally recognized relationship (unión de hecho) with an Ecuadorian.

  3. To be a minor or a person with a disability who is a dependent of an Ecuadorian or of a foreign person with a permanent residency.

  4. Relatives under the second degree of consaguinity or affinity of an Ecuadorian or of a foreign person with a permanent residency.

The visa categories of this type of residency are the same as in the temporary residency visa.

ECUADORIAN CITIZENSHIP

Application; letter of representation; obtaining migratory reports and other legal documents required in the process; translation of documents; interviews, etc.


TRANSFER OF VISA INTO A NEW PASSPORT

When your passport is expired, your visa must be transferred into your new passport. For this purpose, the applicant requires to submit all of the updated documents proving that his/her status has not changed. We provide assistance during this process.


CHANGE OF VISA CATEGORY OR IMMIGRATION STATUS

If for any reason the client needs to change his immigration status (i.e. from investor in real estate to pensioner, etc), we assist him/her throughout the process.
